Seriously guys, those prices for RG3 are insane!
Yep. That’s crazy. I think the price for Franco is nuts too.
I believe that your comments are “spot-on.” The sports collectors world need to be carefully and not drive the fans away with their prices. I understand that the prices are based on the players asking price/show fee. However, if the fans ever decide that we/they no longer wish to support the RG III’s and Aaron Roger’s million dollar wallets… it’s get a real job time–players!
You are right… it is our choice to support or not!
I completely agree. The kid has done nothing but won the Heisman. He could turn out to be another first round QB bust in the NFL. I wouldn’t have even wasted my time or his by negotiating a contract for him to come at a price like that.
These guys are starting to push the collector/fan out of it!!!
I agree, but at least he’s a super bowl MVP and hall of famer
Franco Harris is pricey, but at least he has an NFL resume and a HOF career.
Rookies charging more than big time HOF’ers is absurd. Ron Dayne came out of college asking $75. Cam Newton was over $100 w/o ever playing a down. Anyone want a Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, or Brady Quinn autograph? Imagine paying a $100 for them right out of college. Ridiculous to speculate that kind of money on rookies.
Tried getting guys for my shop. Revis wanted $25,000 and to be private. Will not deal with the fans asking for photos, etc. That is $83.00 per auto. Only 300 in 2 hours. Fast and out of there. That means to the pubic is $100.00 hoping to sell 250 to “break even” Then of course there are “menus” for players. They want so much for 8×10, mini hel, full size hel, 16×20, jersey, art pieces etc. Hard to keep track. Give the promoters credit for having guys. Sometimes a player does not want to be bothered at all, and throws a high price out there. Some promoters take the chance since , “when was the last time some of these HOF’s have been around?” Oh don’t forget that we have to fly them in 1st class, provide a limo, and a hotel room…. $$$$
A BIG PASS on RGIII. Too much money for the risk. Franco Harris is pricey but tempting, but with a lot of great opportunities at this show I’m going to pass on him as well.
There should be a cap on rookies! =)
These prices will force me just to get my Y.A.Tittle stuff signed. For the money I would have to pay to get Roethlisberger to sign a helmet, I can get my photo taken with Y.A., have him sign it, plus my helmet,a football and another piece. And he’ll sign “HOF 71” for no extra charge.
RIP Alex”Big Red”Webster
